Within the framework of the scientific cooperation between the Southern Technical University and the University of Kufa, a joint article was published by Dr. Aithar Al-Mayahi and Professor Dr. Muwaffaq Abdulaziz Al-Hasnawi, Associate Dean of the Technical Institute, entitled ((Educational Dimensions of Social Solidarity)) on the website of Al-Noor Foundation for Culture and Media in the Kingdom of Sweden on September 19, 2020.
Social solidarity is the solidarity and commitment of the members of society and their solidarity with each other in order to help the needy and the needy and the poor. That is, the members of society are all involved in preserving the public and private interests and the payment or prevention of material and moral damages, so that each person in it feels that he has specific rights and also has duties that are binding on others, especially those who are not able to fulfill their own basic needs by working on the delivery of aid Necessary to them and pay the damages for them.
In other words, social solidarity is the meeting of the members of the community and their agreement on the common interests among them, to be united in the face of individual and group difficulties and problems facing them, and in the payment of harm to all members of society and to stand on all the need to help the needy, protect the weak, honor those who deserve, and stand by Some of them are in defending injustice, resolving differences, and reconciling views among members of society.
We should not imagine that social solidarity means solidarity in the material aspect only, which provides for the needy the basic requirements of life, and that it has become expanded to the needs of society that include all areas of life where there are areas of life that are no less important than solidarity in the material side only.
There are several types of social solidarity that differ according to the nature of the goal, and the methods of implementing them differ from one society to another.
There is what is called livelihood solidarity, which is intended for society to take care of the poor, sick and needy, and take care of their livelihood, including food, clothing, housing, and other basic social needs, and it is one of the most important types of social solidarity with a direct impact because it cannot be dispensed with for all members of society.
And there is another type known as scientific solidarity, which means providing educational opportunities for all members of society and encouraging them to seek knowledge, and the solidarity of the members of society to remove the effects of illiteracy, and that the knowledgeable person teaches the ignorant person as it takes into account the provision of specialization for the outstanding and gives them the full opportunity for scientific creativity.
There is a so-called political solidarity, which means that every person should assume his responsibilities towards the general policies of the state that serve all members of society. The state is the property of all. There is no tyranny of opinion nor permanent retention of a position. Observing, advising, enjoining good and forbidding evil by sharing opinion and giving advice because he is responsible for society and its future.
As for economic solidarity, it is for all members of society to cooperate in preserving the wealth of society from loss and waste. It also prevents misuse of the general economy and observing the correct standards for all economic activities, so society is not allowed to waste its money and give it to those who are unable to maintain it.
As for ethical solidarity, it means guarding virtuous moral values ​​and principles and protecting society from chaos and corruption, as society must denounce the immoral acts of some. Also included in the moral solidarity is the feeling of every person towards others with feelings of love, affection and good treatment, and to cooperate with them in all life situations, whether they are happy or sad.
Likewise, there is a type called Al-Abbadi Takaful, which is a form of worship that was legalized by Islam and which should be performed and preserved by the members of society. This image of community solidarity and its cooperation in performing ritual acts is a prominent feature of the Muslim community and has a great impact on tightening the bonds of society, as this rituals by God Almighty wanted the collective aspect and focus on the importance of the group and highlighting it in different forms of worship to consolidate the concept of devotional solidarity.
There is another type called cultural symbiosis, which is interdependence in everything that benefits the group from the work of my life, political, economic or cultural, and it is one of the things that God Almighty wants for the children of society and wants them to cooperate on it. Beneficial work for society is loved by God, may He be glorified and exalted, and the members of society must cooperate in achieving it.
As for solidarity in public life, it means that every person should bear his responsibilities related to the common interests of all, and that all members of society be partners in preserving and implementing laws, assisting the competent authorities in this, preserving the environment, and adhering to general laws in all aspects of social life.
