Scientific Symposium at the Faculty of Education/ University of Kufa entitled “Mathematics in the Heritage of Imam Ali (a.s.)”
Faculty of Education/ Information Section … Under the slogan ‘From the heritage of Imam Ali (a.s.), we inspire science and knowledge.’, the Department of Mathematics at the Faculty of Education/ Kufa University has held a scientific symposium entitled “Mathematics in the Heritage of Imam Ali (a.s.)”, attended by the dean of the faculty, Prof. Dr Ali Khdhayir Hejji, and the dean of the Faculty of Education for Girls, Dr Abbas al-Fehham, and a number of lecturers and students. Al-Hejji said that the symposium aims to inform the participants about the scientific heritage of Imam Ali (a.s.), and familiarize them with the historical incidents that required mathematical solutions from Imam Ali (a.s.), as well as acquainting them with the trends of the Islamic scientific thinking. He added that the symposium dealt with Imam Ali’s scientific method and selections of historical incidents in which Imam Ali (a.s.) employed mathematical laws and principles. Also, the symposium included a lecture delivered by Prof. Neseer Resool al-Bekkaa, head of the Department of Mathematics, in which he spoke about the genius of Imam Ali (a.s.) in solving complex mathematical questions quickly and accurately. It’s worth mentioning that the symposium comes within 1440 AH festival activities.
