Prof. Dr. Wiam Abdul-Wehhab Al-Bayyati, head of the department, in which she discussed three pillars of effective learning: the success of the teacher in choosing the method of teaching appropriate for his students, the positive relationship between him and them, and the effectiveness of the learner as a taker of the initiative and participant since s/he is an integral part in the educational process. Al-Bayyati stressed the need to use modern teaching methods that increase the motivation of students and their desire to learn, most importantly: solving problems, brainstorming and the conversational method: the adoption of concept maps and the teaching method centred upon the learner.
