    Faculty of Education/ Information Section … In cooperation with the Faculty of Nursing, the Faculty of Education/ University of Kufa has held an informative workshop about how to conduct aid in emergency situations. It was attended by a number of lecturers and students. The workshop showed that first aid is a set of simple medical steps leading to save the life of an injured individual.
The person who performs first aid, a paramedic, does not need high medical skills or techniques, where it is sufficient to train in the skills of carrying out aid through the use of minimal equipment.
Also, the workshop dealt with first aid in case of head injury, fractures, wounds, drowning, sunstroke, burns and electric shocks. The workshop confirmed that the aim of aid is to maintain the life of the injured, stop the occurrence of harm or damage and promote healing by providing initial treatment.
