Faculty of Education/ University of Kufa holds its international scientific conference about Sheikh Aga Buzurg al-Tehrani
Faculty of Education/ Information Section … In collaboration with the Holy Shrine of Abbas(a.s.), the Faculty of Education at the University of Kufa has held the International Scientific Conference about Sheikh Aga Buzurg al-Tehrani and his impact on the revival of Islamic heritage under the title “Our heritage is the glory of our ancestors and the beacon of our sons.”. The conference was attended by official, academic and religious personalities from Iraq, Iran and Arab countries.
The dean of the Faculty of Education, Prof. Dr Ali Khdhayir Hejji, mentioned that the conference aims to preserve holy Hadith heritage from loss in the light of the prosperity of information technology and employ the achievements of the scholar Aga Buzurg in other scientific disciplines, as well as highlighting the scientific aspects of the sheikh’s thought in Hadith studies. Al-Hejji added that the conference dealt with several topics, most notably the axis of Hadith narrators, biographies, genealogy, indexes and bibliography in the heritage of al-Tehrani, the scholar’s scientific life, history of Hadith knowledge and narration, and the pivot of the transmitted heritage in his book The Justification.
Al-Hejji noted that the conference programme included unveiling of The Appended Book of the Justification of Shia Writings, the opening of a photographic gallery and an exhibition of plastic art including the graduation projects of the students of the Department of Art Education under the supervision of Dr Ali Ameen al-Juburi. Also, the conference witnessed discussing (23) scientific research papers delivered by researchers from Iraq, Iran and other countries and in four research sessions. The first and second sessions were at the morning chaired by Dr Serwan al-Janabi and Dr Thair al-Nesrawi respectively. The third and fourth sessions were at the evening chaired by Dr Naima al-Asadi and Dr Ali Tahir respectively. Al-Hejji stated that the faculty will have programmes to revive the heritage of the oldest in the coming years.
