The Faculty of Education at the University of Kufa organizes a scientific symposium entitled “Mathematics Curricula in the Intermediate Stage between Reality and Ambition”
Faculty of Education/ Information Section … Under the slogan, ‘From the heritage of Imam Ali (a.s.), we inspire the development of school curricula’, the Department of Mathematics at the Faculty of Education/ University of Kufa has organized its 3rd scientific symposium for the current academic year entitled “Mathematics Curricula in the Intermediate Stage between Reality and Ambition” with a wide range of participation of the teaching staff members in al-Najaf al-Ashraf Directorate of Education. The symposium aims at familiarizing Secondary Schools’ teachers with the reality of schools’ curricula in the intermediate schools and the recent trends in the development of mathematics curricula, as well as the obstacles of applying the content of maths textbook for the third intermediate class, and discussing ways of developing methods of teaching mathematics. The symposium witnessed presenting three lectures. The first was by the educational expert, Mr Yousif al-Miamar, in which he tackled the mechanisms for the development of maths curricula at the secondary level. The second was by Dr Abdulhussain Shakir al-Sultani, in which he showed the extent of matching of the mathematical concepts included in the textbooks of the intermediate stage and their methods of teaching with the scientific criteria. The third was an analytical study delivered by Mr Ahmed Hussain Mouder from Al-Najaf Directorate of Education, in which he touched on the content of maths textbook for the third intermediate class.
