Scientific Symposium at the Faculty of Education/ Kufa University entitled “Illuminations in Language and Literature”
Faculty of Education/ information Section … Among the activities of the year 1440 AH, the year of the Commander of the Believers (a.s.), the Department of English at the Faculty of Education has organized a scientific symposium entitled “Illuminations in Language and Literature” attended by a number of lecturers, researchers and students. The symposium included delivering four lectures. The first was about semantic antithesis and repetition in the Holy Quran by Asst Prof. Azhar Hasan Sellumi from the Faculty of Education for Humanities/ University of Karbala. The second was by Dr Dhiaa Kareem Ali from the Faculty of Education at Kufa University, where he spoke about the victims of value and victims of no value – representing the Iraqi people in times of war in the American press. The third was by Asst Prof. Dhiaa Khalil Nael from the University of Karbala in which he touched on the environmental literature: the Borderline between the humanities and the non-humanities. The fourth lecture tackled Arnold Whisker’s play Cuisine: A realistic and social study about working class issues delivered by Asst Prof. Zina Dhiaa al-Menshi from the Faculty of Education for Humanities/ University of Karbala.
